Moles are common growths of pigment cells that can occur on any part of the body. Brown, black, blue, or skin colored, most moles are harmless. Sometimes moles get caught on clothing or jewelry or when shaving, causing discomfort. Occasionally, a mole may appear different from other moles. Dr. Gandhi can identify abnormal appearing moles during a full body skin examination. Sometimes abnormal appearing moles may need to be removed. Whether for cosmetic reasons or for biopsy and evaluation by a dermatopathologist, moles can be safely removed in the office.
